Design leadership
If your prototype needs a narrator, that's the feedback
I stopped presenting in design review.
I just share the prototype and say: "Explore."
The feedback shifts immediately. Instead of "why is this button gray" you get "I didn't know where to go after this screen." Instead of debating hierarchy on a static frame, stakeholders are telling you exactly where the experience breaks down.
They answer their own questions. The confusion that surfaces is real confusion, not hypothetical. The things they get hung up on are actually worth fixing.
Here's why it works: we don't stand next to every customer and walk them through a feature when it ships. The experience has to carry itself. Design review should test exactly that.
If your prototype needs a narrator, that's the feedback.
