I'm not an engineer. I direct AI agents to build the things I used to have to ask engineers to build.

That shift has changed my relationship to the product process in ways I didn't expect.

When I can prototype a working system, not just a Figma mockup, my design arguments get sharper. I can show instead of describe. I can test assumptions before they go into a sprint.

The designers who are figuring out how to work this way aren't just getting more productive. They're becoming more credible partners at the table where technical decisions get made.

AI doesn't replace design judgment. It removes the dependency that was limiting where design judgment could go.
